Tackifiers

Yser offers a wide range of resins for this application, complying with the most exigent environmental laws and all the needed characteristics for food contact or for skin applications.

Non Crystallizing: Resins of this series are similar to natural colophony, specially treated to avoid crystallization problem of natural rosins.

The main application for non crystallizing resins is in flooring adhesives, where a high acid number is required to promote adhesion to high energy surfaces.

Special resins of these series are YserTack 104, which is low in colour and has special properties that allow its application in footwear adhesives and YserTack 107, which is a low VOC resin used to make adhesives complying with Ec1.

Glycerol Esters: This resin series are stabilized low colour glycerol esters of gum rosin. Main applications are hot melt adhesives and PSA´s. In this series, resins promote different melt viscosities, open time and service temperature on hot melt adhesives made with them.

YserTack 317 is a high softening point resin used in adhesives requiring good flexibility, no embritlement and high tensile strength.

Glycerol esters can also be used in other applications, like wax compounds, depilatories and road marking paints.

Glycerol esters are compatible with almost any polymer.

Penta Esters: This resin series are stabilized low colour penta esters of gum rosin. Main applications are hot melt adhesives and PSA´s. In this series, resins promote different melt viscosities, open time and service temperature on hot melt adhesives made with them.  Usually, adhesives made with penta esters are higher in melt viscosity, tensile strength and service temperature compared to glycerol esters.

YserTack 324 and YserTack 325 are high softening point resins used in adhesives requiring good flexibility, no embritlement and high tensile strength. The main use for these two resins is the production of wood assembly hot melt adhesives.

Penta esters can also be used in other applications, like on road marking paints.

Triethylene Glycol Esters: Resins in this series are viscous to very viscous, light coloured, low VOC and low odour material.

Main uses are flooring adhesives, PSA´s and also works well as tackifier and plasticizer in other systems.

Polymerized Rosin: Resins in this series are gum rosin acid dimers or sterified rosin acid dimers.

These types of resins are used for special purposes where high softening point and good compatibility with low polarity polymers are key issues. They are also used in special applications where diacid is a must.

Disproportionated Rosin: Resins in this series are derivatives of gum rosin obtained by chemical treatment to reduce the abietic acid content.

Main uses are as tackifier for PSA´s and rubber production.
